The top teams from each regional will advance to the Super Regionals, which will determine the eight teams that will compete in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
Texas A&M earned the right to host the regional by finishing the regular season with one of the top 16 records in the country. The Aggies, who are ranked No. 5 in the nation, will be joined by seven other teams in the tournament:
- Stanford
- Louisiana
- Texas
- Oral Roberts
- Arizona
- Air Force
- Louisiana Tech
Economic Impact
The NCAA College Station Regional is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy. The Bryan-College Station Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates that the event will generate approximately $12 million in direct spending.
Visitors to the regional will spend money on hotels, restaurants, shopping, and other activities. The event will also create jobs for local businesses, such as those that provide security, transportation, and food and beverage services.
Slower Summer Season
The NCAA College Station Regional comes at a time when the Bryan-College Station area is typically experiencing a slower summer season. The event is expected to help boost the economy during this period.
"This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our community to a national audience," said Don Lewis, president and CEO of the Bryan-College Station Convention and Visitors Bureau. "The NCAA College Station Regional will also bring much-needed revenue to our local businesses."
